Lareeda Elizabeth Schenk, 75, of Jerome, passed away March 11, 2008, at her home.
She was born Dec. 3, 1932, in Richfield, Idaho, the oldest daughter of George and Annie Coates. Her childhood years were spent in Richfield, where she graduated from Richfield High School in 1950. She married Larry B. Schenk on June 4, 1954, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Lareeda was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions over her lifetime. She worked for more than 20 years doing genealogical research in the records extraction program.
Lareeda was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother. She loved her home and spent many hours gardening and growing flowers. She always kept a beautiful yard with many flowers.
Lareeda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Larry Schenk of Jerome; and their daughters, Denise Anne Schenk, Lori Jo (Steven) Hone and Rebecca Lynn (Kenneth) Gray.
She is also survived by her brother, Lawrence (Coleen) Coates; her sister, Doris Johnson; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Darrell Coates.
