Harriet W. Rose, 82, Overland Park, passed away Dec 13th, 2015. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Friday, Dec 18th at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Avenue, Overland Park. Private burial will take place at Mt Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be 6- 8pm Thurs at Charter Funerals, 10250 Shawnee Mission Parkway. Memorial contributions are suggested to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Kansas City. Harriet was born on August 25, 1933 in Moline, IL, one of four daughters born to Ralph and Mervane Wallace. Harriet worked at Waddell & Reed for 20 years, was a member of Sweet Adelines, and was one of the founding members of Families Together. She devoted her life to being a caregiver for her daughter, Nancy, while advocating relentlessly for all families with children of special needs. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, and a sister, Virginia. She is survived by her children: William Rose (wife, Cheryl), Judi Wheeler (husband, Roger), Jim Rose (wife, Terri), and Nancy Rose; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters, Polly Heim and Jan Pronger (husband, Chuck); and many loving nieces and nephews.
