Funeral services for Charles LeRoy Turner, 75, former township highway commissioner and manager of the local Farm Service plant, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Princeville Methodist church with Rev. Samuel B. Parker officiating. Burial was in the Princeville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Camp, Arthur Heinz, Robert Wasson, Ivan Johnson, Marvin Dahl, and Hugh Colgan.
He was born December 18, 1891, a son of William and Eliza Letterman Turner and passed away Saturday evening March 18, in his home following a long illness. He married Blanche Burgess September 1, 1917, in Peoria. Mr. Turner had been a farmer most of his life. They moved to Princeville following his retirement a few years ago.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Adams of Princeville; two grandchildren, Mrs. Vickie Clougherty and Scott Adams, both of Princeville; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mrs. Lily Pullen of Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria, formerly of Dunlap.
He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge in Dunlap and the Princeville Methodist Church.
Hammitt Memorial Chapel was in charge of the services.
