Co. K, 1st OVI. Enrolled at age 19 on 5 Sept. 1861. Described as 5 feet 7 and 1/2 inches tall, fair, brown eyes and hair, a farmer. Discharged on a Surgeon's certificate on 18 Feb. 1863. Returned home extremely emaciated with consumption and camp diarrhea, with little chance of recovery; died 2 months later. His mother said in her pension application that he was her oldest child and worked to support her and two other children after the death of her husband, George W. Lukens.
