He was born September 27, 1936 in Rossville, Illinois the son of Issac "Elmer" and Ruby (Sears) Karrick.
On September 29, 1989 in Walnutport, Pennsylvania he was united in marriage to Elaine Silfies, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jeff Karrick and his wife Jackie of Neoga, Illinois; two daughters, Jacki Hubbell and her husband Dayne of Seligman, Missouri and Kelli Rainey of Lehigh Acres, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Karrick of Seligman, Missouri and Mary Karrick of Titusville, Florida; five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Carrie, Chris, Brittney and Dylan; eight great-grandchildren, Zack, Christian, Gavin, Kaiden, Paige, Bentley, Parker and Malachi and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Robert and Glenn.
Wayne grew up and attended school in Rossville, Illinois graduating from Rossville High School.
After moving from Minnesota to Seligman in 1983 he owned and operated Karrick Hydro Repair Services in Seligman for several years. Wayne enjoyed farming, raising longhorn cattle and traveling.
