James Lee Reid, 80 of Jayess, MS passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Friday, August 28, 1942 in Fernwood, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in 412 Beulah Ave., Tylertown, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery in Jayess, Mississippi. Brother David Heddon will officiate. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. James was a proud veteran of the United States National Guard for 23 years. Mr. James was also a member of Enon Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife 36 years Ann Roberts Reid; daughter Nancy Reid Thornton; father Devitt Lee Reid; mother Ina Lee Mulford Reid; and brother Jesse Walter Reid.
Survivors include his son, Kendal Reid (Vivian); step-son Dalton Rawls; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother Ray Reid; along with a host of friends and loving family.
Pallbearers will be Cody Reid, Clay Reid, and Jerry Boyd.
