Ms. Celeste M. Felten, age 100, of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the UK Albert Chandler Hospital in Lexington. Ms. Felten, born in Pittsboro, Mississippi, was the daughter of the late Scott and Margaret Malone.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond of 63 years, her parents, brothers Rupert, Ottis and Jerry, and sisters Mary Lou and Bernice.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Felten Cook and her husband Lew of Maysville, son Steve Felten and his wife Teresa of Broomfield, Colorado; granddaughter, Shelley Riggs and her husband, Chris and great granddaughters, Anna and Ashlyn, of Old Hickory, Tennessee.
Ms. Felten was a long-time member of Alta Woods Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi, having served there as a Sunday School teacher and WMU member for over 40 years. She worked as a tax preparer and accountant for several small businesses for about 30 years. She loved genealogy, coloring, and playing scrabble. Since moving to Maysville in 2019, she has been a resident of Kenton Pointe Assisted Living Community and a member of Central Baptist Church of Maysville.
Services were held Tuesday, May 9th, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home in Maysville, KY with the service to follow at noon. There will be a Memorial service for Ms. Felten, Tuesday, June 6th at 11:00 am, with a visitation from 10:00-11:00 am at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church of Maysville Building Fund, 437 Central Avenue, Maysville, Kentucky 41056 or the International Mission Board, 3806 Monument Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23230
