Mazel was born in Richfield, Utah, May 19, 1920, to Perry and Sylvia Lowe Davis and grew up in Annabella, Utah. She married the love of her life, Myron (Mike) Zundel, January 4, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the parents of five children.
She moved with her husband and children to St. Maries, in northern Idaho, where her husband, a pharmacist, owned and operated Mike's Drug for 25 years. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many callings over the years. She served as president of the PTA and was also active with her husband in serving in the community. She loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer and fishing enthusiast. As a loving wife and mother, she found her greatest joy in serving her family.
Mazel is survived by sons: Mike (Jan) Zundel and Jim (Lori) Zundel, Salt Lake City; daughters: Christine McLean, Annabella; Toni Ann (Bret) Boyer, Springville; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren.
Mazel was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; a daughter, Vicki Olson; sister, Myrle Smith; and son-in-law, Phillip McLean.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Annabella 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. The family will remember her best for her optimism, cheerfulness, her pot roasts, her love of BYU football and Jazz games.
