His obit states he came over from Italy as a young child. His naturalization application states he was widowed- his wife's name was Eleanor - stated they were married in Philadelphia 11 August 1924-- she was born in Philadelphia 12 June 1907.
Eleanor Balfar (they spelled it incorrectly) died 5 November 1925 of a miscarriage in Pennsylvania. She was 18. She was buried at Holy Sepulchre- outside of Philly
