VERNON H.BAILEY, 91, formerly of Bechtelsville and Kempton, passed away on March 9, 2019 in Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living, Boyertown, Pa. He was the husband of Dorothy S.(Stauffer) Bailey. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in April of 2018. He was born in Reading, a son of the late Titus J. and Verna J. (Heffner) Bailey. His mother died in childbirth and Vernon was raised by his aunt and uncle , the late Earl and Irene (Bailey) Bond and his twin brother Titus H. Bailey was raised by the late Minnie and Howard Bailey, both of Kempton. He was formerly employed as a State Liquor Store Manager for different stores in Berks County for 29 years until retiring in 1984. Vernon was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy and also later in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was of the Protestant faith. He was also a life member of the National Rifle Assn. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jean B. wife of Edward Wood, Perkiomenville, Pa., and two grandchildren, Joshua and Alyssa Wood. Vernon was predeceased by a daughter Martha L. Reinert and his twin brother Titus H. Bailey.
