Florence Anna Ray Aduddell Burrows passed away December 9, 2002. She was born February 24, 1905 in Witcher, Oklahoma {Indian Territory} to Joseph Benjamin Ray and Rebecca Ann Ponder Ray.

She graduated from Edmond Normal School. She married Truman Aduddell of Choctaw on December 24, 1926. He preceded her in death in 1952. In addition to raising four daughters, she taught school, worked as a "Rosie Riveter" during World War II and worked as a cook in the Choctaw school system for 20 years.

In 1971 she married the Rev. John Burrows who also preceded her in death in 1975.

She leaves a legacy of love and compassion for family and those whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. Celebrate her life while mourning her death. An exceptionally bright woman, she loved and enjoyed life surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was known by her warmth and kindness to all who had the pleasure of being in her presence. Though your smile may be gone from us and your loving hands we cannot touch, we have such wonderful memories of you, Mom who meant to us so much! Your memory is our keepsake of which we¹ll never part, God holds you now in His keeping, we hold you in our hearts! A long time member of First Baptist Church of Choctaw, she enjoyed many activities while her health permitted. She delighted in cooking, telling stories from days long ago and visiting with her many friends. God saw that you were tired and opened up his loving arms to welcome you home. Heaven is brighter today with the addition of one of God¹s shining examples.

She is survived by three daughters, Billie Cerne of Shawnee, Sue Gray of Choctaw and Shirley Geerts and husband, Dennis of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren, Bill Anderson, Victor Cerne and wife Cindy, Cindy Garman and husband Ron, Greg Geerts and Jeff Geerts; eight great-grandchildren, Justin Cerne, Molly Cerne, James Hocker, Briton Garman, Deshia Garman, Matthew Garman, Tiffany Garman and Brent Garman and three great-great-grandchildren, Rachel Hocker, Woody and Zella Garman. Florence was preceded by grandchildren Keith Gray and Joanna Cerne.

Services will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 12, 2002 at the Choctaw First Baptist Church with interment at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
