On May 1, 2023, our dear mom Carolyn A. "Carol" York, nee Dutkiewicz, sadly passed away at age 80. Carol was a loving wife to (Fenton), wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mom to her fur babies.

Although we know she is in Heaven and at peace, we are devastated that she is no longer with us. Our mom was our lifeline, our confidant, and our strength. She taught us to be respectful, mindful of others' feelings before our own and never let anyone feel excluded. She was caring, gentle, generous, and helpful. Her sense of humor was contagious! She loved to laugh, act silly, and was very sarcastic. She loved our large family get-togethers and events. We were taught at a very early age, never attend a party empty handed and always help clean up.

Our mom was a strong, independent woman with a lot of pride. She insisted on doing things on her own, never wanting to be a "burden" to any of us kids. We never thought of her as a burden; ever. Our mom cared for her mom for years, always leading by example for us. She worked very hard to raise five beautiful children, always putting us first. Sure, she experienced hardships and sadness, but also success and true happiness with our Pops. She loved photography, animals, crafts, sewing, baking cakes, yard work, and fixing things on her own. She had a huge, sweet tooth (against doctors' orders). When Paczki day came, she was first in line.

Her pets were very dear to her. She had a hard time saying no to taking in a stray or helping an animal. She told us that they are all God's creatures and all creatures serve a purpose so be kind to them.

Carol was predeceased by her loving husband, Fenton York. She is survived by her proud children Lynn (Paul) Neuberg, Roberta Edwards, Robert Scott York, Mike (Stephanie) York, and Michelle (Louis) Triggiani. She leaves behind seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation, Friday, May 5, 2023, 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois.
