Neville Richard Bowman, 97, widower of Alene Banks Bowman passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Born on March 8, 1926 in Ford, Kentucky. Neville was a son of the late John and Gertrude Bowman. Neville was a former Boy Scout Leader, Shriner, Boonesboro Lions Club member and a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

Neville enjoyed dancing,telling stories with friends and feasting on a meal. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot in Richmond, KY where he received and monitored the first loads of chemical weapons to be received there. After retirement he concentrated on farming and the selling of real estate.

Neville was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alene, both sons (Farrell and Michael Bowman), long time special friends Wanda Faye Wills, grandson-in-law Marty Swartz and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by grandsons Shane Bowman (Tanya Marshall), Richard Bowman (Bridget) and Scott Bowman (Katrina), three sisters: Genevieve, Christine and Dorothy; daughter-in-law Libby Bowman and granddaughter-in-law Amy Swartz. Neville was also the proud great-grandfather of Kyi, Walker, Nelli, Alex, Rayvn and Dean Bowman.

Graveside service will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Boonesboro Cemetery.
