OBITUARY

July 19, 1983

Mrs. Mable F. Schafer, 85 of Cardinal Healthcare Center, died there at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday after a lengthy illness. She was born on Feb 2, 1898, in Wyatt, and lived in northern Indiana all her life. On Nov 8, 1919 she married Delbert Schafer, who died in November 1969.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Habermann of Mishawaka; two sons, Nelson C. and Robert E., both of South Bend; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Laura Scott of South Bend, and three brothers, Dale, Gailard, and Robert Kaiser, all of South Bend.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John's United Church of Christ in Woodland, with Rev Joseph Newton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, Ironwood at Jefferson.

She was a member of South Bend American Turners, the church, Miami Home Economics Club and the Friendly Hour Club of Wyatt. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Fund, American Cancer Society or the church.
