Frank Lee, Sr. Fatally Injured In Auto Accident

Leesburg Resident Dies At Home After Accident Yesterday

Frank Lee, Sr., 61, of Leesburg, was fatally injured yesterday morning in an automobile accident which occurred on Delsea Drive at the intersection of the Leesburg-Belleplain road. Lee was injured in the crash and died a short time later at his home.

According to Port Norris State Police, who investigated the crash, Lee's machine and one driven by Franklin Haybron, Vineland-Bridgeton pike, Bridgeton, collided almost head-on about 8:30 yesterday morning.

Both drivers were riding alone at the time of the crash. Lee was taken to his home in Leesburg, where a physician was called to attend him for shock, contusions and internal injuries. Death came a few hours later.

Arraigned before Recorder Edwin Malcolm, Port Elizabeth, Haybron was held in $1000 bail to await the action of the grand jury on a death by automobile charge.

Haybron was but slightly injured.

The accident victim is survived by his wife, Bertha Hilt Lee; four children, Frank Lee, Jr., Woodbine; Mrs. Pauline Burley, Leesburg; Mrs. Mildred Livingston, Detroit and Miss Flora Lee, Leesburg. Three brothers and three sisters also survive. They are: Morris Lee, Port Norris; Steelman and Harry Lee, Leesburg; Mrs. Addie O'Neal, Port Norris and Mrs. Mary Sharpless and Mrs. Teressa Cox, Millville.

He was employed by the Woodbine State Colony.

Funeral services will be conducted from the residence in Leesburg Wednesday afternoon. Interment will be in Leesburg Methodist Church.
