Corey Dawn (Maxwell) Bishop-Miller entered into this world on May 9,1974 in Lubbock, Texas to parents Thomas and Shirley Maxwell. Corey was also welcomed into the world by half siblings. The first few years of her life, Corey moved quite a bit, as Tom had a job working on elevators, so travel was a must. Corey lived all across Texas and New Mexico. Before Corey started school, her parents moved to Baca County, where they would call home. Corey was a happy child. Blond-haired, blue eyed, shy, yet witty. She attended most of her school at the at Springfield School and some at Pritchett School. When Corey was eight, her baby sister, was born and 16 short months after that her brother was born. Corey's siblings admired their older sister. Corey often looked after them, she was like second mom to them. Corey and her family attended church at The Baptist Chapel. At the age of 12, Corey became a Christian and was baptized at the Edler Community Church. Corey enjoyed church and learning about God. Corey attended many youth groups with her friends from Pritchett.

Corey Graduated from Springfield High School in 1992 and later went on to graduate as an LPN from Lamar Community College in 1995, then as an RN from Otero Junior College in 1998. Corey worked at the Alzheimer's Unit in Springfield and also would pick up shifts at home health and hospice. Corey's faith helped her with hospice patients greatly, as she helped the sick with their "end of life" journey. Corey also volunteered on the Springfield Ambulance for several years. Everybody enjoyed working with Corey. She was fun, knowledgeable, and a friend to all who needed one.

Corey and Mike Bochatey welcomed a daughter into the world. Corey enjoyed her daughter, even though she never slept. Corey lived in Springfield, Colorado for the first 9 months of her daughter's life. Corey eventually moved to Pueblo West, Colorado, where Corey worked at the skilled nursing floor at Parkview Medical Center. Corey enjoyed her time working at Parkview. She always said it was her favorite time in nursing. She made many friends working at Parkview, including longtime friends, Chris and Edwina Dukes, whom she still kept in contact with many years later. In 2001, Corey married Chad Bishop and welcomed a son to the family. She loved that sweet, blond boy. The family eventually moved to Colorado Springs and then to Las Vegas, NV.

Corey became the director of nursing of a group home for disabled people in Las Vegas. She was the director for 12 years. She later went on to start her own nurse consulting business. Corey always worked very hard at everything that she did and she was a fantastic nurse. This helped her business become very successful and almost impossible to keep up with at times. Corey's daughter looked up to her mom as she too wants to become an RN. She would often call Corey for advice and guidance while studying the nursing practice. Corey was a great teacher and mentor. Corey welcomed her last child. Corey loved all three of her children endlessly, and they all admired her. In 2017, Corey met the last love of her life, Toby Miller. Corey and Toby and the kids went on many adventures. They went fishing, shooting, camping, and even blew up a few old appliances with gun powder. Life was good.

n September 2020, Corey had suffered a brain aneurysm, but she was stubborn and relentless, she didn't let the aneurysm stop her. Even though she spent nearly a month in the ICU, she made a great recovery and started proceeding with life as normal quickly after leaving the hospital. In October 2020, Corey and Toby finally tied the knot and started to plan their new life together. Corey made big plans to move to Winnemucca with Toby and was excited to get her boys out of the city. Corey was offered a job as a discharge planner at the hospital in Winnemucca and was looking forward to starting this job at the end of April. Corey and Toby were packing and getting their new home ready. Sadly, in March 2021, Corey received news that her brain aneurysm had returned and she needed to have surgery. Corey had surgery April 2,2021. Unfortunately, the surgery did not go well and the aneurysm was not able to be fixed. Corey passed away April 4,2021 at Valley Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV. Corey was surrounded by her family. Friday, April 16, 2021 funeral services for Corey were held in Winnemucca, Nevada where she was laid to rest in the Winnemucca Cemetery.

Corey will be greatly missed by many. She was a friend to all and would help anybody in need.
