Benjamin "Benny" Martin Ashby married Geneva Sue (Snider) Queen on 3 Dec 1966. Benny Ashby and Geneva Ashby passed away on 20 Nov 1979 in Anchorage, Alaska. Benny had been working as a security guard for the American Guard and Alert Services. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Rogers Ashby and Mary C. (Hoy) Ashby Kirby. In addition to a son and daughter, Benny was survived his sister, Mary C. (Ashby) Thompson of Ashland, KY. Services in Anchorage were provided by Spenard Heights Mortuary. Funeral services were held in Madisonville TN, with Biereley-Hale in charge.

[Jan 1947, Chattanooga recruiting office sent Benny to the induction center at Fort Jackson, SC (assume he served in Army 18-24 months). The 6 Apr 1950 Census (ED 54-17, 311 (rear) Washington Ave., Etowah, McMinn Co., TN) shows Mary C. Kirby (head, from PA), Mary C. Ashby (daughter, from TN) and Benny M. Ashby (son, from KY). Mary C. Ashby (daughter) is seen as Mary Catherine and Mary Katherine. Benny served with the USAF from Dec 1970 to Aug 1976; gravestone shows he was Technical Sergeant (E-6).]
