Obituary Gonzales Inquirer Apr. 8, 1965

Waelder—Mrs. Stella Schwandner, sister of Noah Burkett, of near Waelder, passing away Sunday night. Mrs. Schwandner made her home with her brother, she having been raised here and taught school in Waelder many years ago. The cause of death was attributed to a heart attack. The body was sent to Brackettville for burial.

Woman Dies In Waelder

Last rites will be held from the graveside in Brackettville Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. for Mrs. Stella Burkett Schwandner, who died at the home of her brother, Noah Burkett on Route 1 Waelder, at 8 p.m. Sunday.
The body will remain at the Baker Funeral chapel until 10 a.m. Tuesday after which it will be taken to Brackettville for the final rites. The Rev. W. Slattery of Brackettville will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Schwandner was born near Cisteren , the daughter of Thomas J. And Matilda Wotipka manager editor of the De Burkett, natives of of Moulton and La Grange.
She was married to Charles Schwandner who preceded her in death on January 7, 1950. All of her life had been spent in Gonzales county with the exception of 14 years in Linney county where she was making her home on a ranch at the time of her death.
