KERNERSVILLE – Betty Gibbons, 83, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Camden Health and Rehab. Betty was born on October 30, 1939 in Forsyth County, NC to John Arthur Bodenhamer and Ermie Weavil Bodenhamer. Betty grew up farming and loved working outdoors. She enjoyed farming, gardening and woodworking. She enjoyed doing crafts and could make anything out of wood, flowers and anything else she put her mind to. She loved her grandchildren and always had surprises and treats for them at every gathering. She always enjoyed attending all the events they participated in as much as possible.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Randle "Bub", Bobby, Tommy, and John "Buster" Bodenhamer; and two sisters, Dorothy Riggle and Esther Tyndall.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald Gibbons, son Randy Gibbons and wife Debbie of High Point; daughter Lisa Crotts and husband Dwight of Winston-Salem; one sister Naomi Lewallen of High Point; five grandchildren, Chelsea Cline (Matt), Molly Gibbons, Maddy Gibbons, Erin Fordham (James), and Carrie Crotts; three great grandchildren, Leighton and Hayes Cline, and Rowan-Kate Fordham.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
