Wes was born on February 17, 1948, raised in Marianna, AR where he graduated from T.A. Futrell HS in the class of '66. while a member of the school band and the drum major.
He attended Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) on a Drum Major scholarship.
He began his 34 year career with the Arkansas State Police in 1971.
Wes was very proud of his time with the ASP, through his career he was assigned to Troop D, Troop A, Governor's Security and later in various positions at Headquarters in Little Rock.
Wes also served in the Arkansas Army National Guard from 1971-1976.
Wes was an active member with the Loyal Order of Moose, North Little Rock Moose Lodge 942, Arkansas Razorback Moose Legion 181 where he obtained the Degree of Pilgrim. He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Sylvan Hills Masonic Lodge 754, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 1.
Throughout his life, Wes enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating with friends and family on various rivers and lakes throughout AR.
He was an avid golfer and was able to travel the country with a group of friends playing the game and was able to achieve a hole-in-one at his home course (Rolling Hills CC) in 2011.
In retirement, he and his wife traveled the US extensively and enjoyed their many trips through our beautiful country. He was famous for saying, "why go abroad when I haven't seen everything here".
He most loved spending time with his family and friends, BBQing, lounging by the pool, listening to music and sharing stories.
He always looked forward to his annual family beach trip to the Florida panhandle.
Wes was preceded in death by his father, Judge Haskell Adams Sr and mother, Mary Sue (Turner) Adams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Hall Adams, son Wesley Hale Adams (Kristin), grandson, Harrison Hale Adams and brother, Haskell Adams Jr. He was a great friend, wonderful husband, excellent father and even better G-Daddy.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Visitation will be at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 p.m.
