This is my ancestor. I found her on the 1910 Texas Census with a granddaughter by the name of Mabel E. Jasper age 10 living with them. When my Grandfather applied for his social security card in 1937 he listed Mollie "Bell" as the maiden name of his mother.

My grandfather was James Porter Jasper, Sr. and he was possibly a brother to Mabel. Nancy J "Mary" Bell had 8 children in all according the the 1910 Census and only 3 were currently living. This follows family history in my family of my grandfather being orphaned and a brother died. One child (Bell - 1 mo) was listed with them on the 1880 Census (but seems to be crossed out) and was not listed after that. They could have married between 1880 and 1900 but it doesn't fit with Mary only having 3 living children in 1900 that are listed in the bio I originally inherited. On the 1910 Census it lists that she had 8 chlidren with only 3 still living. That doesn't seem like it could be correct. That would mean she had 5 children born and died in 10 years.

Nancy Jane "Mary" Bell was the daughter of Rosalie (Shipman) and John Graham (per the Washington State Death Certificate).

James R. Bell married Nancy J. Graham 14 Feb 1875 which matches that they were married 35 years on the 1910 census.
There was no image available, only a record:
Source Illinois, County Marriages 1800 - 1940. This means she would have been about 19 when she married. I am using this source for her maiden name as well as her death record in Washington which lists her parents names. I am sure the death certificate is incorrect stating she was married since on the 1940 Census in Washington just a few months before her death lists her as widowed.

The monument in Texas does not list a death date. I don't know if she is really buried there or in Washington where she died.

Name: James R Bell Gender: Male Marriage Date: 14 Feb 1875 Marriage Place: Madison, Illinois, USA Spouse: Nancy J Graham Film Number: 001306457

I searched in Ancestry in member trees to find John Graham and Rosalie Shipman Graham. I found them, but did not find them in findagrave.com. I searched further to find a marriage record for Jonathan Graham and Rosaline Shipman. Stella was probably the one filling the information on the death certificate for her mother and it would be easy to mistake John for Jonathan and Rosalie for Rosaline. I feel certain I found their marriage record in: Indiana Compiled Marriages Greene County being married June 12, 1850.

I searched further to find that Rosaline's parents were Nancy Jane (Empson) & John Shipman. I found them in findagrave.com: Nancy (Empson) Shipman 16663077 and John Shipman 16663069. It lists Nancy's parents and children but Rosaline is not listed in findagrave as their child. I could not find Rosaline or Jonathan in findagrave. I found this information in Ancestry member trees for Virginia Cary Hudson's Family Tree. It seems to be very accurate and lists Sources and good documentation that agrees with my other research. She lists Rosaline Shipman Birth about 1834 in Indiana and Death 16 MAR 1891 in Kansas. I need to find documentation for this.

I am adding many census records here as my sources.

If this is the same Susie May Bell, daughter of James R Bell, the mother maiden name does not make sense. I made a copy of the actual marriage record. I will research further.

It is probable that Susie May (Bell) Hunton died young and he remarried. I could not find any record of her death.
