Fred Callis Obituary
Fred Daniel Callis, Sr., retired farmer and mail carrier peacefully went home to be with the Lord, October 19, 2008, at his home in Wilbon, NC.
The honor and goodness of this man will live on through his family. Fred touched the hearts and lives of everyone around him in many ways - such as the pies he baked with kindness and compassion that left the fragrance of Christ in the memories of those he touched.
Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife Adelle Atkins Callis in 1992.
He is survived by his loving second wife of 14 years, one son of Brazil, one son of Four Oaks, one son Joseph Craig of Holly Springs, one daughter of Culpeper, VA, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-sons of CA, eight step-grandchildren, two sisters of Fuquay, one brother of Fuquay, one brother of Raleigh, one brother of Pinehurst and one sister of Danville, VA.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Fuquay- Varina.
The celebration of Fred's life will be held at Wake Chapel Christian Church, Fuquay-Varina 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2008 with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Garden, Fuquay-Varina.
Memorial contributions may be made to the IMB, P.O. Box 6767 Richmond, VA 23230, Lottie Moon Offering, if desired in lieu of flowers.
