James Thomas Burris, 69, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 in Texas.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home with Rev. David Woods officiating.

Tommy was born Thursday, December 24, 1942 in the Talley-Walker Hospital in Marlow to Thomas "Tom" Jefferson and Ima Irene (Johnson) Burris. He was a life long resident of Marlow and graduate of Sterling High School. He was an auto mechanic by trade, working for Chevrolet and Toyota Dealers. During his career he was presented with numerous Service Manager Awards. It was said that: "Tommy made a lot of money for everyone he ever worked for." He also dabbled in self employment from time to time at the home shop. Tommy spent his last few years in the Plano, TX area and enjoyed watching his grandkids play baseball.

Survivors include, daughter, Laura Snider of Murphy, TX; sons, Tom Burris and wife Lori of Plano, TX and Mark Burris of Oklahoma City; Grandchildren, Ethan Burris and Evan Burris of Plano, TX, Tosha Baird and Tierra Burris of Stillwater; great grandchildren,Oliver Baird and Sawyer Baird of Stillwater;sister, Evelyn Brantley of Sterling.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patsy Hector.
