Gerard "Geri" Catherine Meloche Benezue, age 95, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at her residence.
Gerard was born on January 18, 1928 to Francis Meloche and Catherine Crellin Meloche in New Orleans, LA. She attended McDonogh High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She was a long-time member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs and later in life she became a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs as well.
Geri was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald Joseph Benezue; 7 sisters; and 1 brother.
She is survived by her 6 children, Faye (Gary Reeves) Benezue of Ocean Springs, Anne (Leonard) Tarrant of Ocean Springs, Donna (John) Pates of Biloxi, Frank (Karen) Benezue of Grand Prairie,TX, Beverly (Marion) Winters of Ocean Springs, and Kelly (Joseph) Dean of Kyle. TX; 11 grandchildren, Tonya Tarrant, Lennie Tarrant, Gerard (Alicia) Tarrant, Kevin (Frances) Tarrant, Aimee (Brian) Kelleher, Katie Tarrant, Michael Winters, Melanie (James) Tucker, Brian Winters, Will Dean, and Sam Dean; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Friends may visit one hour prior.
Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
