Irene A. Burkart, age 61 of Avon, died Saturday, September 15, 2007 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Avon Emergency Room following a sudden illness.
She was born November 16, 1945 in Lorain,, she was a life long resident of Avon.
She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, where she served as President of the Altar and Rosary Society for several years. She enjoyed cooking, caring for animals, spending time with her family and was a avid Cleveland Indians Fan.
She worked over 40 years as a Escrow Officer for First Federal of Lakewood and various other local banks and title companies.
Surviving are her sister, Arlene T. Griffith of Sheffield Village, Nieces, Colleen (Jeremy) Adams of Sheffield Village and Allison Griffith of Lorain, along with Allison's fiancé Nathan Souders.
She was preceded in death by Parents, Edward and Helen Burkart.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday, September 18 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd N. Ridgeville, where the Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:00 PM. A prayer service will be held 9:15 AM Wednesday in the funeral home followed by 10 AM Mass at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church 1878 Abbe Rd. Sheffield.. Reverend Robert Franco, Pastor will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow in the St. Teresa's Cemetery, .
