ON SUNDAY, January 9, 2022 at Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman, MS, God looked down from heaven and saw his servant had gotten tired. God said, "Luella, servant well done," and sent his angels of silence to carry our beloved Luella into the everlasting flows of eternity. Having faith and hope, we stand in the joy and love of knowing she is resting in peace in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

MRS. LUELLA ARRINGTON DUBOSE was born in Wayne County MS to the union of the late Earlie Arrington and Nellie Warren on March 17, 1938. At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ at Center Ridge Baptist Church in Shubuta, MS, where she served faithfully until her health failed. Luella receivedher education at Wayne and Clarke County Public Schools. She worked as an employee of Burlington Industries.

In 1954, Luella met and married the late Mr Robert Lee Dubose, Sr., and to this union, seven children were born. Luella's nurturing spirit would allow her to care for many throughout her life. She acted as a mother and caregiver to many, and she treated everyone who crossed her path with love and kindness. She would often say, "I've been raising children all my life." She was also very active, with some of her favorite past times being gardening, working in her yard, and fishing.

LUELLA wore many hats. She was a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many in her community, and she never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Earlie and Mrs. Nallie Arrington; two daughters: Delores Jean Dubose and Barbara Louise Dubose; one son: Chester Ray Dubose; three brothers: Marvin Bass, J. C. Arrington, and R. C. Arrington; and three sisters: Roxy Bass Twillie, Mildridge Arrington Grayson, and Ruby Burks Dixion.

She leaves precious memories to cherish in three sons: Robert Lee Dubose, Jr., Elbert Charles (Ruby) Dubose of South Haven MS, and David Lee Dubose of Shubuta MS; one daughter, Minnie Smith of Waynesboro MS; seven grandsons and two great granddaughters she raised as her own: Stephen (Mae) Dubose, Christopher Dubose, Kendrick Dubose, Prince Dubose, Troy Dubose, Tyrone Dubose, and George Dubose, Troyneshia Odom and Shartara Dubose all of Shubuta MS; seventeen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, January 15, at 11:00 AM at Center Ridge Baptist Church in the DeSoto community (Shubuta). Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Dr. Lorenzo Carter will officiate the services.

Due to Co Vid, masks must be worn by all attendees, and hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry.

There will be a viewing period for Mrs. Dubose Friday, January 14, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.

LUELLA will always be in our hearts, and we will love her forever. Luella fought a good fight, she finished her course and kept the faith. To God be the glory for the things He has done!
