The Union Democrat - Mar 11, 1871 - Page 3 DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT Captain George A. Pendleton County Clerk, died in Old San Diego on the 3d inst. He came to California as a Lieutenant in Stevenson's regiment in 1847, and resided in this county (Tuolumne County) from 1849 to 1854. He was some years a Justice of the Peace, at Tuttletown, and was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention from this District. In 1854 he went to San Diego County and has filled the office of County Clerk for that county for the past fourteen years.
