Janet's Obituary

Janet Karen Breshears, 70 years old, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday morning, April 25, 2023 in Tulsa. She was born Saturday May 3, 1952 to her loving parents Loil Glenn Ford and Jessie Marie (Neal) Ford in Tulsa.

Janet was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, Mimi, grandma and friend to all. She was known to be caring, loving, and kind. She always lent a patient ear to listen without judgement for anyone who came by her house. Her house always had an open door, and she would never let anyone leave without being fed or without a place to rest their heads. Often times, you will see her with her Diet Pepsi in hand, which she lovingly called it her "go juice."

Her love to work with and help children lead Janet to start volunteering at Mitchell Elementary School after her sons were of school age. She started as a teachers assistant and eventually started working as a health assistant to the school nurse at Tulsa Public Schools. She was beloved by all the students and staff members while continuing her open door policy at the schools. She started her career at Mitchell Elementary School in Tulsa and finished at Walt Whitman Elementary School in Tulsa for 30 years until her retirement.

After her retirement, Janet would go on to spend half the year in Southern California to enjoy the weather, sunshine, and to spend time with her two rambunctious grandsons. She would always come home to Oklahoma to visit her three beautiful granddaughters.

Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steven Breshears; parents, Loil and Jessie Ford; and sister, Renee Ford.

She is survived by her three sons, Danny Frazier, Derek Breshears and David Breshears; brothers, Gerald Ford and Dwayne Ford; granddaughters, Brooklynn, Julie and Stevie; and grandsons, Lincoln and Carter.

Janet has left a lasting impression on every heart that she has touched, and she will be deeply missed as she goes on to join her family in heaven.

Visitation 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 at Add'Vantage Funeral Service.

Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Airport Freewill Baptist Church, 1190 North Mingo Road, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74116. Burial will follow at Moodys Cemetery in Cherokee County, Oklahoma.
