Lois Macht (nee Kleiman), of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, at the age of 94.
She is survived by her children, Carol Macht (Dr. Sheldon Lerman), Amy Macht (George Grose), Robert (Pamela) Macht, and Jane Macht (Thomas Mason); her grandchildren, Daniel (Dana) Lerman, Sarah Lerman (Mitchell Kominsky), Eloise Grose (David Gillpatrick), Madeleine (Kevin) McCloskey, Sofia Macht, Tony Macht, and Emily Mason, Isabel Mason, and David Mason; her great-grandchildren, Adelaide, Lillie, and Waverly Lerman, Leonardo and Rafaela Kominsky, Cameran Gillpatrick, Georgia and Ruthie McCloskey, and her niece, Ellen Brown Nathan. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip Macht and her parents, Rose and Joseph Kleiman.

Lois was a graduate of PS 69 and 49, Forest Park High School, Goucher College. She was one of the first women to attend the University of Maryland School of Law. She was awarded the Order of the Coif for her high academic standing in law school.

She was married for 62 years to Philip who almost matched her in intellectual passion, scrabble, and bridge acumen. Together they raised four children, traveled extensively, participated in community politics, and started a treasured 70-year tradition of multi-generational Sunday Night Dinners. She derived great joy from her family, lifelong girlfriends, art, house and garden, and philosophical conversations.

Services in Arlington Chizuk Amuno Cemetery; 4450 N. Rogers Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215, on Sunday, April 30th, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
