Before his retirement, he had been employed by UPS. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing his guitar, working in the garden, and spending time with his dogs and cats. Derrick is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Michelle Waggoner; 1 brother, 1 sister, 1 niece, 1 nephew, 3 sister-in-laws and a mother-in-law whom he loved very much.
