Jerry Mack Halbert

Jerry Mack Halbert, 83, of San Angelo, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 23, 2023.

Jerry was born on May 22, 1939 in Abilene, TX and attended Sweetwater High School. He married the love of his life, Patsy Altom Halbert on June 6, 1959. They were getting ready to celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary this year. He worked as a Market Manager for forty years with M'System and Food Basket. Jerry was a member of the Church of Christ since 1959. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football. He loved all of his grandkids dearly and would carry vanilla wafer cookies in his pocket as a special treat that they all looked forward to.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, N.C. Halbert; his mother, Ioweta Stiefer; sister, Sherry Killingsworth; and son, Guy Halbert.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Patsy Jean Halbert; sister, Joan Parvin; brother, N.C Halbert and Shirley; brother, J.C. Halbert and Avis; son, Jay Halbert and Sally; daughter, Pam Salas and Steve; grandkids, Tiffany McClintock and Ryan, Haley Losoya and Jose, Holly Lupton and Ryan, Katie Holdridge and Hunter, Jason Halbert and Sadie; and 12 great-grandkids, Brynly, Briley, Easton, Kipton, Addison, Liv, Ivy, Oakley, Wyatt, Rylynn, Zayden, and Casen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and aides that helped care for him. We also want to give a special thanks to Delaine Hale and the wonderful and caring staff at Gentiva Hospice that also cared for Jerry during his final days.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 27, at 10:00 am, at Johnson Street Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers, Jerry wishes for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
