William "Bill" Long Branch, 93, of Morganton, NC, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023.

Born July 12, 1929 in Burke County, NC, he was the son of the late John Alexander and Florence Belle Branch.

Bill was a member of Mount Home Baptist Church and retired from Broughton Hospital after 23 years. Bill loved to play bingo and made a lot of friends at Grace Heights. He played in several bands, enjoyed music, working on word search puzzles, and reading.

Bill is survived by his son, Jeffrey Long Branch (Katie); daughter, Sherry B. Goodman (Michael); grandchildren, Jeffrey Goodman and April Branch Lackey; great grandchildren, Ethan Lackey, and Hannah Lackey; sister, Joyce Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by five siblings.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Mount Home Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
