On April 22nd, Catherine America Victoria "Kate" Baracco, 99, heard "What do you say, Caterina?" and reunited for a welcoming dance with Charles, her husband of 73 years. Daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa (Ciarla) Lombardi, Kate, like her parents, was a lifelong resident of Solvay.

After graduating from Solvay High School, Kate was a long-time employee of Syracuse China, starting as a switchboard operator and ending as an executive secretary to the Director of Marketing. Kate and Charles were co-owners of Fava Refrigeration Co., and she was the office manager, bookkeeper, and self-proclaimed "Boss". In her youth, Catherine was an avid bowler and loved the annual bowling trips with her teammates. Kate and Chuck were both accomplished golfers and competitive ballroom dancers. She loved playing cards with friends and family, watching SU games and the Yankees. They wintered in Venice, FL where they made lifelong friendships and lasting memories. Catherine's faith was a very important part of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Cecilia's parish for the majority of her life, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and current parishioner at St. Charles-St. Ann's. She belonged to the Geddes Vets Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. Her greatest love was her family. Her smile and laugh were one of a kind and would especially surface when her grandchildren or great grandchildren would enter the room.

She is survived by, son, Charles (Karen Ann) Baracco, daughter, Teresa (Keith) Condon, grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Nettune, Charles (Lindsey) Baracco, Michael (Charlotte) Baracco, Aubrey (Craig) Lockwood, Andrew Condon, Brianna (Ben) Bengert, great grandchildren, Bennett, Lara, Charlie Nettune, Isla, Laney, Esmae, Arthur and Hadley Baracco, brother, Dominick (Laurianna) Lombardi, sister, Patricia Relyea and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 2021 and her sibling, Patsy Lombardi.

The family of Catherine would like to thank all the caregivers, nurses and doctors from St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Camillus and Francis House for all their love, care and kindness towards her.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, April 27th at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 AM Friday April 28th at St. Marianne Cope Parish-St. Cecilia Church, 1001 Woods Rd, Solvay.
