Ann was born on February 18, 1934 in Yakima, Washington to Joseph and Mary Dietzen. She was the first of 8 children. Ann grew up in Yakima attending St. Paul's school and went on to excelling at St. Joseph's Academy to graduate as Valedictorian in June of 1952. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Washington. She met Edwin Gamon while at the U of W and went on to marry him in June of 1959. They stayed in the Seattle area and had 4 children that they raised in the Bellevue area. After retiring they moved back to Yakima, WA.
In addition to raising a growing family, Ann had a long career as a registered dietitian at Virginia Mason Hospital. She retired from Virginia Mason Hospital as Associate Director of Nutrition Services.
Ann was an excellent cook and enjoyed being the consummate hostess. She had a great passion for gardening and her home was always filled with fresh cut flowers.
Ann was deeply spiritual and graciously volunteered for many years with her church and her children's activities. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Ann was keenly intelligent and a great conversationalist. She loved the Seattle Mariners which dated back to attending local baseball games with her dad. She enjoyed Bridge and was always up for a good game of it.
Ann is survived by her brothers Richard and Joseph Dietzen, and a sister Margaret Callinan. She is also survived by her 4 children Trina Cooper, Bruce Gamon, David Gamon and Mark Gamon, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A service will be held later in the fall at St. Paul's Cathedral in Yakima, WA. Please contact the family for further information.
