Pearl DeYager, 88, 5212 Morningside Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 22, 1994, at Casa De Paz Nursing Home after a long illness. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Richard Kretzschmar, pastor of Whitfield United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday. Mrs. DeYager, the former Pearl Church, was born Sept. 6, 1906, in Cherokee, Iowa. She married Steve DeYager Jan. 4, 1927, in Sioux City. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1937. He died Jan. 14, 1987, in Sioux City. She worked for Zenith Corp. for 25 years and for Albertson's about three years. Mrs. DeYager was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church. Survivors include two brothers, Louie Church and his wife, Dorothy of Sioux City and Edward Church and his wife, Althea of Salem, Ore., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dewey, John, Donald and William F.; and two sisters, Mary and Marie.
