Death of M. H. Ruter, Esq. This gentleman breathed his last yesterday evening, about 7 o'clock, at his residence in this city. Mr. H. was the newly appointed Postmaster for this city but owing to his illness had not entered upon the duties of his office. He had been a citizen of this place for a number of years, and by his gentlemanly deportment and correct business habits had endeared himself to a large circle of friends.
