TIPP CITY - Forrest E. Robbins, 87, of Tipp City, passed away suddenly Friday evening, Jan. 25, 2008, at his residence.
He was born July 16, 1920, in Tipp City, to the late James C. and Gertrude (Underwood) Robbins.
Surviving are his sons, James R. Robbins of Tipp City, William K. and his wife Vickie Robbins of Naples, Fla. and Bruce L. and his wife Linda Robbins of Troy; daughter-in-law, Kathy Robbins of Virginia Beach, Va.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty E. Robbins in 1994; and son, Jerry E. Robbins.
He was retired from Hobart Corp. after 40 years of service. He continued to work at Chmiels market in Tipp City for 12 years and then at Wal-Mart in Troy for the past 13 years. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 586, Tipp City; the First Baptist Church, Tipp City; and the Hobart Quarter Century Club. He loved bowling, fishing and mowing his lawn.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
