John was born November 1, 1926, in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Earl S. Hanna Sr. and Mary Jane (Fritz) Hanna. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1942 and enlisted in the US Marines in 1950. He was stationed in South Carolina and was honorably discharged in 1954. He married Carol Lindstrom, and she passed away in 1983. He later married Winona M. Moore on October 25, 1985, in Sterling, CO.
John worked at Larson Motors for many years detailing automobiles.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Carol, brother Earl Hanna Jr. and sister-in-law Shirley Hanna, and niece Sandra Jarvis.
John is survived by his wife Winona M. Hanna of Sterling, CO, step-son Wendell Potter, numerous nieces, one nephew, nine great nieces and one great nephew.
