R. M. Gjedde, 83, of Minerva, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Charles Denman officiating. Burial will follow in the Minerva Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Gjedde was born March 20, 1921 to Will and Mattie (Anderson) Gjedde in Cameron. He was a 1939 graduate of C. H. Yoe High School. He married Bonnelle Hubert April 10, 1944. He served in the U. S. Navy. After serving in the Navy, he worked in numerous government offices from San Antonio to St. Louis, Missouri to San Diego, California, retiring as a civil service defense supply agent after 34 years. Mr. Gjedde was a Methodist.
Survivors include: Wife Bonnelle Gjedde of Minerva Sons Fred Gjedde of Arlington Jerry Gjedde and wife Kathy of Burleson 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
