THOMAS DELAHANTY OBITUARY
Thomas E. Delahanty Jr. BRICK Thomas E. Delahanty Jr., 77, of Brick, NJ, passed away at home on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016. Born and raised in the Trenton area, Mr. Delahanty moved to the Meiers Corners section of Staten Island before moving to Brick at the time of his retirement. He was employed with Walbaum's Supermarket for over 20 years as a meat cutter until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the Meat Cutters Union No. 342. Mr. Delahanty served as an officer and treasurer for the Lions Head North Association in Brick. He was a proud grandfather and loved attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Mr. Delahanty was a devoted husband and caregiver to his late wife, June. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas E. and Katherine (Schmidt) Delahanty; his wife of 48 years, June E. Delahanty; his brothers, James, William, and David Delahanty, and his sister, Catherine Hoffman, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Newell of Boiling Springs, SC; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas E. III and Linda Delahanty of Middletown, NJ; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Kevin Benson; his six grandchildren, Richard John Newell, Kathleen S. Duncan, James David Newell, Thomas E. Delahanty IV, Angela Katherine Delahanty and Stephen Michael Delahanty; his five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at the Saul Memorial Home, 1740 Greenwood Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08609. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, Jan, 14, 2016, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Saul Memorial Home.
