He was born on September 5, 1981, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Deon Stanford and Fred Gregory Grinnell. He attended schools in Duvall and Carnation, Wash., and graduated from Service High School in Anchorage, Alaska. He also attended the University of Alaska/Anchorage.
He worked as a computer networking specialist for Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium. He was Catholic. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and racing, snowboarding and working on computers.
He was richly blessed with talents, with success in his work, with wonderful co-workers, and with tremendous friends. He loved hockey, skating, snowboarding, running, riding, racing, and his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Deon and Michael Mace, Chubbuck; his father and stepmother, Fred and Paula Grinnell of Wasilla, Alaska; brothers, Greg (Sue) Grinnell of Vancouver, Washington; Alan (Trisha) Grinnell of Salt Lake City, Utah and Sean Mace of Plattsburg, New York; sister, Dina of Kansas; and grandmothers, Margaret Stanford of St. Anthony, Idaho; and Alyce Grinnell Hill of St. Cloud, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Leland W. Stanford and Ralph Francis Grinnell.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery.
