She was born in Davis County February 13, 1890, the daughter of Sylvester and Margaret Ann Lanman. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 30 years. She was married to Mr. Deborn April 24, 1910 in Davis County. She was a member of the Bethlehem Church and the ladies auxiliary of the Eagle Lodge.
In addtion to her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Miss Viola Deborn, Mrs. Bessie Davis, Mrs. Iris Abrams, all of Ottumwa, Mrs. Maxine Jones of San Pedro, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Crowder of Bloomfield; two sons, Carl Deborn of Ottumwa and Ira Deborn of Wichita, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Corda McClure, Mrs. Emma Carroll, both of Ottumwa, Mrs. Lillie Fite and Mrs. Helen Gideon, both of Floris; and a brother, Marvin Lanman of Selma. She was preceded in death by a son in infancy.
Short services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel and further services at 2 p.m. at the Bethlehem Church, south of Eldon, in charge of the H.E. Goldsboro of the Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Bethlehem cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers.
