Mrs. Nancy J. Dennis of this city passed away at the home of her son. William L. Dennis, near Hoisington, Kansas at 9:45, Oct. 17th 1927. She was 76 years, 11 months, and 29 days old. She had been in poor health for a number of years but her death was unexpected as she had been bad, but a few days. Nancy Jane Phillips, daughter of Nimrod and Cambis Phillips, was born in Griggsville, Ill., Oct. 19th, 1850. Early in life, she united with the Baptist denomination. She, with her family moved from near Pittsfield, Ill. To Maple Ave. of this city, in 1898, and in 1903 they removed to 613 W. Jefferson Street, Macomb, where she has since resided. She was united in marriage to James N. Dennis. To this union were born six children: S. A. Dennis of near Bowen, Ill.: W. L. Dennis of Hoisington, Kansas, Mrs. A. E. Chapman and B. R. Dennis of Macomb. Two sons, Elmer and Charles died at the age of six and one and one half years respectively. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 12th. 1922. Besides her children, she leaves five grandchildren to mourn her loss. Mrs. Joseph Sigils of Denver. Colo. James, Lawrence, Willard, and Jane Chapman, of Macomb; one sister Mrs. Alice Buffington of Wiley, Colo. She was a home loving wife and mother. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 at the Baptist church. Rev. Melvin Edison officiating. Internment in Oakwood Cemetery
