Angels came and wrapped loving arms around Joy Renee Eichelberger and carried her away to her heavenly father on August 14, 2019.

Joy was born in Harrisburg, PA on April 4, 1944. She was the only child born to Charles and Martha Yocum.

After a few years in Germany she fell right into being a southern lady after moving to Spotsylvania in 1972. Anyone who met her always said her parents gave her the perfect name, it fit her charming personality. Joy was always smiling and opened her heart to anyone in need.

Joy had so many interests but her favorites were sewing and scrapbooking. She would spend countless hours crafting and sharing her creations with family and friends.

Joy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2010 but she never lost her kindness, laugh or smile.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Daniel Raymond Eichelberger.

Joy is survived by three children, Daniel C Eichelberger (Pam), Jennifer Murphy (Brian), and Amy Stroud; grandchildren, Mitchell, Joshua, Emily, Katrina, Zachary, Michael and Sean; greatgrandchildren, Milo, Grace and Sophia; as well as the "misunderstood" cat, Belle.

Joy's family would like to express a special thank you to Lisa Scharman for the countless hours of loving care provided to both Joy and Dan over the last several years and to Capital Caring Hospice for providing assistance.
