Dr. Bette Adams, 80, longtime Shell Beach resident died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at an Arroyo Grande hospital.
There will be a time of visitation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, immediately followed by the funeral service, all at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel of Grover Beach.
Dr. Bette was born July 25, 1923, in Lonetree, Wyo. She lived in Pismo Beach since 1953. She and her husband, Charles, were well-known chiropractors on the Central Coast for many years.
Dr. Bette served as the president of the California Chiropractic Association in 1981-1982, the first female ever to do so. She had also served as president of the Central Coast Chiropractic Society.
She is survived by her loving brother, William Collett; and many nieces and nephews, including her niece and companion, Betty Jo Erickson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles Adams, on April 27, 1998.
