Matthew Edward "Matt" Jennett, 90, of Peoria, Il, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Matt was born on November 13, 1932 in Streator, IL, a son of Louis and Estella (Seipp) Jennett. He married Theresa Marie on December 16, 1989 in Peoria. She survives of Peoria. Also surviving are two cousins, Maria Cone of Sharon, WI and Sandi of Wenona, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael.
Matt proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He loved reading and annotating.
Matt was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he was a Deacon from 1971- 1976 and was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and active in CURSILLO. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus in Streator, IL.
Matt was a Purchasing Agent at Occidental Petroleum, then moved on to work as Job Security for the State of Illinois. He last worked at DCFS as a case worker.
Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria, IL.
