Obituary of Christina Griffin 16 July 1856 in the Christian Guardian

p. 159, CHRISTIAN GUARDIAN dated 16 Jul 1856: D. "MRS. GRIFFIN, of Woodhouse. Died May 3rd, Mrs. Christeen Griffin, widow of the late Mr. Nathaniel Griffin, of Woodhouse, aged 87 years. She was born in Sussex Co., New Jersey, in 1769, and emigrated with her father and family in the Year 1789; and was married to Mr. G. in 1792. She was converted at the early age of 14, and notwithstanding all temporal changes has been a member of the Christian Church ever since. She was confined to her house for several months before her death, and at times suffered much; but in all she evinced the spirit of the matured Christian. A few days previous to her death, she, with several of her pious friends, received the sacrament of the Lord's supper, thus manifesting her life to Christ, and her confidence in his Sacrificial death. She often expressed a desire to depart and be with Christ, and during the last conflict her faith never wavered. June, 1856. J.SHEPLY"
