Jeannette Marie (Emard) Lachance, 87, Fall River, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

Jeannette was born in Fall River, MA to the late Rosilda (Larivierre) and Henri Emard. She was predeceased by her many brothers and sisters. She lived and worked in the city she was raised in with her large, close-knit family. She was a devoted wife to the late Aime A. Lachance, Jr. and was happily married for 56 years, prior to his passing. Together, Jeannette and Aime raised 3 children that she leaves behind, Richard Lachance and his wife Donna, Celeste (Lachance) Arruda, her husband Greg, and Danielle Lachance.

Jeannette enjoyed her family more than anything else. She made countless memories with her 9 grandchildren and their growing families including, Bryan (Meghan) Lachance, Craig (Debbie) Lachance, Gabrielle (Lachance) Coates and her husband Nick, Rachelle Lachance and her fiancé Tim, Hailey Arruda and her fiancé Tyler, Brianne Arruda, Miranda, Wyatt and Parker Gillett.

She gave her heart and soul to her ever expanding family which included 11 great-grandchildren, Emma, Ava, Aliza, Oliver, Bennett, Lillian, Noah, Owen, Norah, Saylor and Madison. Jeannette was also a loving sister-n-law to Claire and the late John Burgess, Pauline and Paul Berube and Lucille Carvalho.

In her youth, Jeannette was educated at Jesus Mary Academy and Diman High School. She worked for The Fall River Knitting Mills and Mount St. Joseph School but her favorite employment may have been in-home child care. Throughout her adult life, Jeannette won the hearts of the numerous children in her care and was best referred to as "Memere".

Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing, listening to music, and volunteering for Massachusetts Citizens for Life. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River, MA. Her funeral will be held Thursday, November 10, at 9:00 am from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M.at Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River.
Burial will be private.
