• Services for Harris Blount, 87, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Craddock Memorial Chapel with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will be at Big Cabin Cemetery at 2 p.m. Monday.

Blount was born Dec. 15, 1913, at Vinita, to Oscar and Ulalah Harris Blount. He died Dec. 6, 2001, at the local hospital.

Married to Marie DeLay on March 6, 1936, in Chandler, he moved to Ardmore where he taught auto mechanics at the Southern Oklahoma Vocational Technical Center before he retired. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and Worth Sunday school class at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Harris Roger, Tulsa; two sisters, Buelah Balsters, Tulsa, and Flora "Patty" Allen, Shawnee; and a brother, Julian W., Miami, Okla.

Honorary bearers will be Sunday school class members.
