Mrs. HELEN L. (FARMER) WARE was the daughter of Dr. James Leonard Farmer Sr. and Mrs. Pearl Marion (Houston) Farmer.

She was the wife of Columbus Berkeley Ware Jr.

"Helen Farmer Ware, 55, a retired home economics and nutrition teacher, died after a long illness on Sunday, December 16, 1973, at the Washington Adventist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Columbus B. Ware and the beloved sister of James L. Farmer.

She lived on 18th Street N.W. A native of Texas, Mrs. Ware received a bachelor of science degree in biology at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, and then she earned a bachelor of science in home economics at Howard University. She obtained a master of science degree in home economics from Cornell University. She taught home economics at Howard University from 1941-42. Until her retirement in 1971, she taught nutrition in various public high schools in the District of Columbia. She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of District of Columbia.

Mrs. Ware's husband, Columbus B. Ware, a former post office supervisor, died in 1971. She leaves her brother, James L. Former, the former National Director of CORE. Also surviving are three aunts, Mrs. Helen Jones, Miss Louise Houston, and Mrs. Sadie Coles, all of New York City, NY; one uncle, Farnell Houston, of New York City, NY; one cousin, Mrs. Bessie Bennett, of Tampa, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruthe Farmer and Mrs. Lula A. Farmer; three nieces; one nephew; other relatives and friends.

From 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, friends may call at the Barnes & Matthews Funeral Home at 3619 14th Street N.W.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Asbury United Methodist Church at 11th and K Streets N.W. with the Rev. Frank L. Williams will officiating. Interment at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery."
